角钢的制造工艺比较简单，生产工艺可分为热轧和冷弯两种，热轧用于大尺寸角钢，冷弯一般是比较小的。

标准工艺是用钢坯（如方坯）经过专用的型钢轧机多道反复轧制逐渐轧成∨形状，材质有保证，在角的内侧有过渡圆弧，

机械性能可靠；而小作坊生产的则是用板材或带钢直接轧（弯）成的，角的内侧没有过渡圆弧，

而且由于是弯曲成的在角处的内应力较大，机械性能较差，最重要的一点是材料没保证，甚至可能是“地条钢”，

这样的角钢买回来一般不能弯曲，也不能焊，最多能取长短钻孔。角钢主要用于制做框架结构，例如高压输电的塔架、

钢结构桥梁主梁两侧的框架、建筑工地上塔式起重机的立柱和臂杆、车间的立柱和梁等，

小的地方如过节路边摆花盆造型的架子、在窗户下挂空调太阳能的架子等。根据其规格和特点，产品分为等边角钢和不等边角钢。
